In line with efforts to ensure safe and comfortable tourism, Dr. Fitri Puspasari, S.Si., M.Sc., a faculty member from the Department of Electrical Engineering and Informatics at SV UGM, led a revitalization project for the Solar Power Plant (PLTS) at Bukit Cubung, Kulon Progo. The system, which had previously faced technical disruptions, was enhanced by installing higher-capacity solar panels and increasing the number of energy storage batteries. This improvement ensures a stable power supply for continuous lighting, supports visitors during night-time activities, and reduces dependence on conventional electricity sources. The revitalization not only optimizes the use of renewable energy but also contributes to a greener environment by lowering carbon emissions. This effort marks a significant step toward supporting sustainable tourism and maintaining Bukit Cubung’s reputation as an eco-friendly destination.
