Department of Electrical and Informatics Engineering, Vocational School of Universitas Gadjah Mada, organized the Summer Course with the theme “Digital Transformation” virtually from July 3rd to July 14th, 2023. The event was attended by 118 students from the Department of Electrical and Informatics Engineering and 2 foreign students from the Philippines. During the two weeks, students received seminar lectures and workshop activities in the field of electrical and informatics.
The opening ceremony of the Summer Course 2023 was officially conducted by Dr. Eng. Tika Erna Putri, S.Si., M.Sc., the Chairman of the Committee, who provided an overview of the program for the two weeks, and Yuris Mulya Saputra, S.T., M.Sc., Phd., the Secretary of the Department of Electrical and Informatics Engineering, who introduced the department as the host of the Summer Course.
Throughout the academic activities in the Summer Course, lectures were given by academics and professionals from various universities and industries, including Sejong University (Korea), Coventry University (UK), Waseda University (Japan), Kyushu University (Japan), and industry professionals from PT Telkom International. The event aimed to enhance knowledge and skills in the latest technology fields, such as Augmented Reality (AR) and Virtual Reality (VR), multimedia, Artificial Intelligence (AI), Internet of Things (IoT), and more. The speakers provided valuable insights and expertise in their respective fields, benefiting the participants’ learning experience. Practical perspectives from industry professionals were also presented, adding value to the participants’ learning journey.
Aside from academic activities, there were workshops guided by lecturers from the Department of Electrical and Informatics Engineering. The participants enthusiastically participated in workshops on UI/UX design, web application programming with WordPress, Microcontroller programming, and 3D design.
The closing ceremony of the Summer Course was presided over by the Chairman of the Committee, Dr. Eng. Tika Erna Putri, S.Si., M.Sc., and Dr. Endang Sulistyowati, the Vice Dean of the Vocational School. The event included a recap of the two weeks through a video playback to reflect on the experiences and activities during the Summer Course. Testimonials were shared by Reychille Abian, representing the participants from the Philippines, and Raditya Jayeswara, representing the local participants. The announcement of awards, including the “Best Achievement Participant Award,” “Most Active Participants,” and “Best Knowledge Participant,” was eagerly anticipated by the participants during the closing ceremony of the Summer Course 2023, Department of Electrical and Informatics Engineering.
