On Wednesday, November 20, 2024, a Kapita Selekta lecture was held for the D4 Technology Engineering programs in Electrical Engineering and Instrumentation and Control at the Vocational School of Universitas Gadjah Mada. The event featured two speakers, both alumni from the D4 Instrumentation and Control Engineering program, class of 2019 (the first batch).
Titled Alumni Menyapa, the session took place from 14:00 to 16:00 WIB via an online platform, moderated by Hidayat Nur Isnianto, S.T., M.Eng, a lecturer from the D4 Instrumentation and Control Engineering program.
Speaker 1: Nabila Destrianty, S.Tr.T.
Nabila, currently working as a Field Service Engineer (FSE) at PAEN, presented the profile of ABB, a multinational company headquartered in Switzerland and Sweden. She also discussed topics related to Process Automation, Power Automation, and Carbon Capture Storage (CCS), linking them to her academic journey. During her time as a student, Nabila was active in various organizations, including HIMATRIK, KMTEDI, and others, to enhance her soft and hard skills. In her 6th semester, Nabila joined the MBKM Internship program at PLTU IP Pelabuhan Ratu, focusing on Carbon Emission and Renewable Energy. She also participated in IISMA at the International University of Applied Sciences in Germany during her 7th semester. Nabila completed her final project in semester 8.
Speaker 2: Elisabet Gusti Tristiati, S.Tr.T.
Elisabet, who currently works as a Junior Engineer R&D in the Engineering Division at Dharma Group, presented on the topic of Electrical Survival Skill. Her presentation began with an introduction to Dharma Group, followed by an explanation of the Battery Pack, which is the focus of her current work. Elisabet also shared her career journey from being a student to working professionally. During her university years, she was active in various organizations such as HIMATRIK, KMTEDI, and Gamaforce. In her 7th semester, Elisabet participated in the MBKM Internship program at PT. Dharma Controlcable Indonesia as an Electric Engineer, where she worked on battery packs for electric bikes. In her 8th semester, Elisabet completed her final project with an industry-based scheme at PT. Dharma Controlcable Indonesia, continuing her internship project on CANbus Communication for BMS and Charging Stations.

Both speakers emphasized that the experiences gained during their time as students, such as involvement in organizations, industry internships, MBKM programs, and IISMA, were incredibly valuable in preparing them for the workforce. These experiences provided essential skills and knowledge that greatly contributed to their professional success.
