Lecturers from the Department of Electrical Engineering and Informatics at the Vocational School of Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM), Dr. Fitri Puspasari, S.Si., M.Sc., and Imroatul Hudati, S.T., M.T., participated in the World Young Scientist Summit (WYSS) 2024 held in Wenzhou, China, from November 13-17, 2024. This event was part of the 5th “Belt & Road” Vocational Education Cooperation Forum, themed “Intelligent Network Connection—Advancing High-Quality International Cooperation and Development of Vocational Education in the New Era”. The forum brought together government leaders and academics from various countries to discuss the development of technology-based vocational education. Yalong Group and Wenzhou University were the main entities involved in organizing WYSS 2024 in Wenzhou, China.
During the event, Dr. Fitri Puspasari delivered a brief speech on behalf of Indonesia. She expressed her gratitude for the invitation and emphasized that the summit serves as an important platform for sharing knowledge in advancing global vocational education. Dr. Fitri also highlighted the importance of international collaboration to enhance training that meets the evolving needs of the global workforce, while fostering innovation and partnerships that support sustainable economic growth.
Throughout the forum, Dr. Fitri and Imroatul Hudati, along with other delegates from various countries and institutions, visited several educational institutions and technology companies in China. They explored the application of intelligent networks in technical education, which can be adapted in Indonesia to improve the quality of vocational education.
UGM’s participation in WYSS 2024 reaffirms its commitment to promoting innovation in technology-based education. Through this forum, UGM lecturers expanded their global networks, exchanged ideas, and explored opportunities for international collaboration to enhance the competitiveness of Indonesia’s vocational education on the global stage.
